Gail Young Dotson
The last 40 years, I got married in 1974 to Dwight Dotson from Paris Ky. Later had a son Todd, now and have 2 grandchildren. When my son was 10, I went to cosmotology school to be a nailtech. This was the right down my ally! I retired in 1999. I miss it a lot. I love theentertacation with people. I had to quit working early because of medical reasons. Now days I enjoy my family, friends, my 2 cats and traveling Life is GOOOOOD!!!
Karl & Mackie (Yates) Hempel
Yes we are still married!
We just celebrated our 40th anniversary taking a two-week trip to Italy.
After high school we both attended the University of Kentucky. Mackie (Yates) obtained a degree in elementary education and taught at Southern elementary while I went to the University of Kentucky Medical School after getting a BS in zoology. After the particularly awful winter of 1976-77, we decided to head South where I completed a residency program in family practice in Tallahassee, Florida. Macke went on to get masters degree in elementary education but later decided she liked nursing and received an BSN,RN from Florida State University. She worked with me some and for a family physician in Tallahassee until retiring in 2006. We have 2 married daughters and one grandson who all live in Tallahassee and one adorable little dog. I opened my family practice in 1980 and have still been enjoying practicing medicine. I am president of a 32 group of mainly family physicians and pediatricians.
Our hobbies are traveling, walking, running, swimming, spending time with our grandson and cruising on our boat. I enjoy running, and have run 13 marathons, and Mackie has run 3. We have had 10 boats since moving to Tallahassee. We started out with a 14 foot boat and ended up with a 50 foot Mikelson sportsfisher/cruiser, learning much along the way! We have been cruising in the Bahamas for a month the last several summers.
We're looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion.

Nancy Schilling Craft
I have spent the last 40 years here in Lexington. We still live in the neighborhood I grew up in - actually bought my folks' house and lived there for 8 years before moving to Breckenwood 22 years ago. We have 2 daughters (grown and married) and 2 grandbabies with #3 due in December. I was an at-home mom for 12 years and then worked at Glendover for 19 years. I retired in 2006 and am now in the sandwich generation with grandchildren and aging parents.
Looking foward to seeing old friends - Nancy
Wayne Doller
I wish I had hung out with Mike Engle a little more (great bio). Anyway, walked on at EKU, played (I mean practiced) football for one year. After another year at EKU, draft number was 19, so I enlisted in the Marine Corps. Sure was good for me at the time. After Honorable Discharge two years later, I worked for Wes Witt's Dad on a survey crew for two years. Then I finally went back to UK and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering in 1979 (just in time for the ten year reunion)! I have worked on a lot of great Civil Engineering projects over the past thirty years on jobs from coast to coast. I had my own business for nearly 14 years, did work with Alan Sullivan, Charlie Barnhart, Wes Witt, and many others. For the past nine years I have been the Civil Engineering Manager for Gray Construction here in Lexington. I am married to Robin (formerly Robin Davis, Becky and Gay Davis's little sister). We have been married since 1981. No kids, but we have a yellow lab named Butter who runs the whole show. I saw Coach Walton a couple years ago after a high school playoff game and we talked for an hour. I asked him, "Coach, why didn't you give us any water during practice, especially during August"!?! He replied "Doller, promise me something. That you and your friends won't file a class action lawsuit against me or my family"! Then he added, "Oh yeah, you owe me four laps"! Some things never change! Thanks Joe for all of your work on this website!

Debbie Riddell Manhart
My husband of 36 years and I live in the country near a town called Hutto - about 20 miles from Austin. We raised 3 sons - Matt 34, Nathan 32 and Zach 30. We have four grand-children - Josh 13, Kaleb 10, McKayla 8 and Erin 6.
I went to the University of Texas for awhile in the 70s, but then got married and started the family. When the youngest was preschool age, I went back to college at Concordia in Austin, graduated, and taught elementary school for 12 years. Then I got my Masters in Education and I have been a school administrator for the past 9 years.
I am looking forward to the reunion. I have known some people since my days at Glendover Elementary!

Sharon (Wild) Averitt
Hello all --
Graduated from WKU with a degree in Business Education. Never taught after student teaching (what does that tell you?!). Currently am Judicial Assistant to Chief Judge of United States District Court in Lexington (been with the court 21 years). Two children: Lisa (web marketing consultant in Berea) and Adam (1st Lt. USAF, navigator, Cannon AFB New Mexico). No grandchildren but two grand Dobermans (Milly and Molly). My mother, now 96, lives with my husband Jim and me in Woodford Co. We are charter members of a new non-denominational, traditional church in Lexington (Faith Fellowship) and keep very busy there. In my spare time, I do some writing, chinapainting and other crafts, and genealogy research (18,000+ people in my family tree now . . . you're probably there!).
Best wishes to everyone.

Steve Pieratt
Was married to Teresa Pieratt when I graduated from Tates Creek. Had spent two years in Greenbrier Military school grade 10-11, and THAT saved my life. A complete change of my life began then, Teresa was a further part of that. Soon a kid popped out-Aaron-and life at Pieratt's took over as Service Manager. Between kids-Howard after Aaron--work-wife and motorsports, I was a busy guy! I had a great time growing up with the kids (they aged, I didn't) as we did all the good stuff-sports, boating, going places and having fun. After 19 years, Teresa was unhappy with our path,as was I too. I made the break and moved out to another chapter in my life. I got real serious about motorcycles then, rode all the time and even started racing them. Met Amy Davis in '91--we married in '92---rode m/c a lot! Her plans for a new family derailed the marriage in '95 so I ran alone for a short while. Then started a relationship with Pam Marsh in '97 that lasted until 2007. Still friends with all of them, I stay out of their way to play on my own. Retired in 03, I've been racing, working at a m/c shop and playing A LOT! I really enjoy the freedom I have---really enjoy the impromptu trips I take. I have been FORCED to give up the racing for now---too many hospital trips. But always looking for something exciting to do.
I was a Ky National Guardsman from 1969 thru 1979----10 years 2 months and 22 days in the 441st Medical Detatchment (Helicopter Ambulance) as a Crew Chief on a UH-1H Huey heli-copter. I was a Specialist 5th class in rank when I resigned to help my wife raise our 2 sons.

The summer of 1969 was a great summer, not only was there a little concert taking place in Woodstock, NY, but a man landed on the moon! However, the most phenomenal event, I was preparing to enter the real world. I was saying goodbye to my Lexington friends as I headed off to college in Ohio. New adventures, new friends (and boyfriends) and hard work were ahead for me, but I was really excited. I started college at a very liberal, liberal arts college for women in Oxford, Ohio called Western College for Women (now part of Miami U.) Sometimes we were called the the Western College for Wayward Women. In the spring of my freshman year were the shootings at Kent State University, which happened to be the sister school to Miami. The National Guard came into Oxford and I was scared to death. There was a 7 pm to 7 am curfew in the town and Miami shut down for the rest of the year, which left 500 girls alone in Oxford. I only mention this because this is when I met the guy I began a 9 year relationship with (I didn't marry him, though) After my sophomore year I transferred to University of Cincinnati, where I received a Bachelor of Science in Education (Early Childhood Development). I took some of the earliest classes offered in sex education - HA! After college I decided to further my education by going to National Center for Paralegal Training in Atlanta. After completion, I returned to Lexington, where I became the first paralegal in Lexington. No one knew exactly what to do with me. I met a "professional" student in 1979 and we married in 1980. Moved to Durham, NC in 1981, for his residency, where I gave birth to the first of my two daughters, Liza, in 1982. We returned in 1985 for my then husband to accept a position with the VA. In 1986, I gave birth to our second daughter, Lauren. I was fortunate to be able to not have to work outside the home, until 1990. My husband and I divorce d in 1991, and I raised my daughters alone after that. I am happy to report that they are healthy, bright, beautiful young women. Both have graduated from college. Neither are married, they are trying to find their way in this big, bad world right now.
I have switched between teaching and being a paralegal. Right now I am a paralegal for the Westfield Group, working in the surety bonds department (I know this sounds really boring, but it's really not). In 2008 I had breast cancer and my beloved Daddy died all during the same period, that was the worst time for me. But I am now cancer free and feeling fine and life is good. But I still miss Daddy. My mother is still living and doing well, still nagging! But I'm fortunate to her nagging, I guess.

Betty (Hunt) Lyons
Gee can any of us remember 40 yrs??? After graduating TC I became a dental technician with a specialty in crown and bridge. I worked 20 yrs in the dental field to include working at UKCD. I then returned to college as a telecom major. Started working with print media at the Lexington Herald-leader. That ended when I fell victim to RSI injuries and could no longer use the computer for any length of time. Now I'm just a domestic goddess!
I married right out of high school to the ole high school sweetheart who attended Henry Clay. We have two children Brandon (35) Lex, and Keleigh (31) Baltimore and 5 grandkids. We divorced after 10 yrs of marriage but still remain friends.
I married Mike (27 yrs)and have 2 stepchildren. We have lived in KY,IL,WV,CA, and now live in Cincinnati OH. We both used to play tennis and he is a dart maniac. He is retired from the USN, and works in the medical field. What a great guy!
I am looking forward to seeing everyone!

Phyllis Saunders Hutti
After TC, I graduated from UK iwth a degree in Family Development and Early Childhood Education and taught public Kindergarten. I married George Hutti in 1974 and we had 2 children Matthew (33) is a Police Officer and lives in Lincoln County and Michelle (30) is a Physicians Assistant in Tampa, Florida. Matthew has 2 sons and Michelle has 1 daughter. After teaching preschool for 25 years, I retired this May. My husband is a retired IRS Agent and now has a CPA practice and represents people who have problems with his former employee!
Linda (Cox) Perkins.
Worked in legal and medical field until 2002. Retired due to medical problems. Two children: Rebecca, age 33, lives in Phoenix, just married this May and now has 3 stepchildren - D.J., Warner, and Sophia. Rebecca has B.S. in Meteorology from Univ. of Oklahoma, served as 1st Lt in Air Force, received Masters in Native American Studies from Univ. of AZ, now works for Department of Interior as legal assistant in Phoenix. Drew, age 26, works as an account rep for Clark Securities in Lexington, is engaged to Lacy, who has a 2-1/2 year old daughter, Kyla. After kissing too many frogs, I also married a prince, who just happened to be my very first love. We met at age age 13 (he attended Bryan Station High School) and I still have my yearbooks with messages signed in them such as "Good luck with Wayne." Wayne and I were reunited in 1987 after 20 years and we have been happily married for 22 years now. He is a retired Lexington firefighter and now works as a bus driver for Fayette County Public Schools. We spend our time renovating and decorating our little country home located halfway between Richmond and Berea, as well as camping and being Nana and Papaw to the grandchildren. We also have a little dog named Maggie, who is a chihuahua/Papillon mix that we got in Florida. I'm very happy to be a 12-year breast cancer survivor, so I appreciate each and every day, rain or shine. I also spend time gardening, doing needlework, and painting. Hopefully, I will see old friends in October at the reunion. Gosh, has it really been 40 years??!!

Terri (Sisk) Pulley
Bruce and I dated often in our Junior and Senior years, but certainly didn't fall in love with each other! We met again when we were Twenty-two and THAT'S when the FIREWORKS started and they haven't stopped for Thirty-seven years! We have a grandson, Ryan, 18 and three grand daughters, Lindsay, 16, Lloyd, 3 and Noa, 18 months.
My Career in a very few words:
I'm a Screen Actors Guild Actress, appearing in episodic television series and Movies. As a Casting Director, I owned a Casting agency Colorado Casting Associates, providing talent for National commercials and print ads. I was also a SAG-AFTRA Agent in L.A. representing talent to the entertainment industry. I then became a Film/Video/Radio/Print/Television Producer; Vice President of Production for LA Production Company; Creative Director for Two Nashville Record Labels; Managing Editor for a music industry magazine, The New Music Series Review; Music Video Producer with major production companies, working with countless Major Country and Pop Recording Artists. Currently I'm a Music Publisher and own Lone Talisman Music (ASCAP), with five singles in top ten over the past nine years and a song cut on the "Sweet Home Alabama" movie soundtrack. We moved back to Kentucky three years ago to help take care of my invalid father-in-law. We recently bought a little farm in Montgomery County with a wonderful renovated farm house. I have my own art studio where I sculpt and create Fine Art and Sculptural Mosaics. Bruce and I are researching grapes to start our own little vineyard. I'm very active with the Gateway Regional Arts Center and serve as the Visual Arts Chair and I am on the Executive Board. I'm also a member of Leadership Montgomery County, a community service organization. Life is great and my husband is the most wonderful man alive!

Many years have passed since our graduation! What a happy Day that was.
We have lived in Ohio since 1980. But I still feel like a missed placed Kentuckian. Kentucky will always be my Home State!
Go Wildcats!

Ruth Roberts Price
After teaching 30 years in high school mathematics I retired. I have lived in Sanford, NC for 30 years. Presently working as an educational consultant for an educational research company in Durham, NC.
My husband, Camp Price, and I are approaching our 37th anniversary. We have 3 children (Erin 32, Stephen 30, and Rebecca 25). We also have 4 granddaughters (Emma, Ashlyn, Rachel, and Hannah).

Mike Montgomery
Like the rest of us I am 57 years old and have a wonderful wife named Faye who has been a true blessing to me and a gift from God for the past 32 years. My children are Angie 36 (from first marriage), Steve 30, and Todd 28.
I have been disabled for 16 years due to several diseases. I have Multiple Sclerosis, a Peripheral Neuropathy, Diabetes, Osteoarthritis, Degenerative Disk Disease (Fusion from L3 - S1), Benign Essential Blepherospasms, and I have had 43 surgeries and 23 kidney stones. I am not complaining, God has been fair with me during my life.
During my working career I was fortunate enough to get to travel to many places including most of the USA, Japan, Hong Kong, and The Philippines. I worked as an engineer and progressed up the management scale all the way to Technical Director before becoming disabled. Some of the defense programs I worked on are AWACS, LST/SCAM, Navy Guided Projectile, Vertical Launching System for Tomahawk Cruise Missiles, Patriot Missile, TADS/ PNVS, Hellfire Missile, and Lantirn. Other projects that I worked on was the computer for GE’s first MRI machine and the Automated Postal Sorting Machines. Most of my working career was with Martin Marietta, which is now part of Lockheed Martin Corporation.
Other than my Engineering Degree from the University of Kentucky I attended Asbury Theological Seminary and received a Master of Arts in Christian Ministries. I made my living as an engineer but I feel that my real education came from Asbury. My disability kept me from using this education in full time ministry but I am grateful for the few opportunities God has given me to put this education to work. I have remained as active as possible with the church doing what I can on a limited basis. My hope and desire is that I will be remembered as a Christian instead of an engineer or any other accomplishment.
I feel that I have been blessed by God to have had such a wonderful life. My career was interesting and challenging even though it was cut short by disability. I have a wonderful family that includes many special friends that we have made over the years in the various places my job took me. I owe everything I have to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Even though I have had a difficult life medically speaking I am very happy and content with my current situation in life. God has given me the peace that passes human understanding, which comes from my favorite verses of Scripture, Philippians 4:4-13.

Roseanna Warner Doyle
I live in Winchester, Kentucky on 5 acres (so I really have a lot of yard to mow), have worked in the medical field for the last 40 years. I work for United Surgical Associates at St. Joe Office Park.
I am widowed, my husband died 18 years ago. I have no children but have lots of nephews and a very special niece who has two very special boys that are my "grandchildren". My father has passed and my mother lives in Pt. Charlotte, Florida.
Eve Leslie Boss
I left Lexington to attend the University of Texas and, as things turned out, I never got back. I ended up with a Master's degree in Environmental Science and a 34-year career at the US Environmental Protection Agency. My duties included planning, enforcement, and program development. I married my husband, Terry, on a boat in Little Bay, Rockport, Texas, and our daughter picked the same place for her wedding. The decision to retire allowed me to spend more time developing our business hosting hunters in the Texas Hill Country. We plan to manage GBL Ranch for several more years, so it looks like visits to Lexington will continue to be brief and infrequent - to visit my sister, Jennifer, or attend Tates Creek Reunions!

Brenda Lawson Bellman
WOW! Has it really been 40 years I definitely don't feel my age. I was married 24 years right out of High School. However, I have been divorced since 94. I have two wonderful sons and three Grandson's. I have sold Real Estate for going on 30 Years and currently manage a RE/MAX Real Estate Firm.
I am looking forward to the reunion and hoping to reconnect to many of my former class mates.

David Buck
Wow, can I even remember what happened over the past 40 years, let alone summarize in 25 words or less?
I started working for Ky. Central Life Insurance Company in 1967 as a computer programmer, a part-time after-school job; in my senior year I was only on campus for the 1st 3 classes and worked the rest of the day.
I studied computer science at UK, graduating in 1973. I worked on the UK campus most of that time, part time then full time, in the computing center.
I headed north to Canada for my masters in computer science, finishing in 1975 at the University of Waterloo, about 3.5 hours east of Detroit. I’ve tried to do my Ph.D. a couple of times, once at Waterloo and once at Univ. London, England; but ran into a few roadblocks each time. I started 3 computer-related businesses in the Toronto area in the late 70's, but when I realized my clients and customers were mostly in California, my wife (married '79) and I moved to the San Jose CA area. There I started another computer company in 1982. I worked for another start-up in the late 90's, then Cisco Systems in 2000; I just left Cisco at the end of 2008.
So those of you who called me 'Computer Buck' were right on, that's about all I've done work-wise for over 40 years. I do enjoy working with computers.
There is more to me than just computers, however ... my youngest of 3 is graduating high school tomorrow, middle daughter is finishing 4th year of an architecture degree program in southern Calif., my son just got married last fall after getting a degree in finance. My wife and I do a motorcycle tour each year the week of our anniversary and have covered the coastline of California, Oregon, and most of Washington in the past 3 years. I'm an instrument-rated pilot, and we keep bees and have a garden and small orchard on about 4 acres.

JoAnn Smith
After graduation I worked at Dawahare’s in Gardenside for 5 years, and then worked at UK for 25 years. (I took early retirement in 1999). (I took some classes when I could.) Started my own business doing Desktop Publishing (page layout and design) closed that 3 years later. I then moved back to Lexington. I didn’t like retirement, so I went back to work at Chapman Printing, also started working part-time at Dillard’s at Fayette Mall to help with Lauren’s college. I’m Still working both jobs.
I’ve been married & divorced twice. Have 1 daughter, Lauren, 23 and 2 Shiz Shu puppies - Shelby and Maddie, 3 months old. In my spare time I enjoy working in the yard (bought a new house and trying to do the landscaping and flowers) and taking dance lessons. Right now I’m learning the Argentine Tango. I enjoy listening to country music, the Oldies (of course) and tango music.
Over all life is good and I feel very blessed.
Hope to see you all at the reunion.
(If you get a chance stop in at Dillard's, would love to see you. I'm upstairs on the seconfd floor. Just tell me you went to TC.)
Elaine Tackett Well, I keep getting prompts to add something about myself- so here goes. After high school, I went to college and received my bachelor's and master's degrees. I taught at a UK community college for about 4 years, then went to law school. I practiced law for about 4 years and then moved to Huntington WV, to teach in Marshall University's Legal Assisting program. In 1990 I came to EKU, where I am teaching in the Paralegal program.
I have never married (but, I've come really close a couple of times). I live in Richmond with my little weiner dog, Suesse (means "cutie pie" in German), in a great community where we have wine & cheese parties, play Bunco once a month, have "girls' night out", a fall community picnic and Christmas open house parties. I just love it!
I love gardening and have a couple of pear and peach trees, blackberry bushes, and a strawberry patch in my back yard. I'm also growing tomatoes & peppers this summer. All organic, of course!

Geneva (Lewis) Larkin
Gosh, can it really be 40 years? Never thought I would live this long!
Life is good, has had some ups and downs, I married Paul Parker (Henry Clay 67) in Jan 69. After graduation, I went to work at Ky Finance in the Home Office. In 1972, my son Brian was born.In 1973, we moved to Richmond, IN. I was a stay at home mom for a while, then I went to work at INA Insurance in the regional office. Paul and I divorced in 1978. I remarried in 1983 and moved to the Pittsburgh area. Was married for 17 years, started nursing school at 42,divorced in 1997. In 2001, for my 50th birthday, I moved to Las Vegas. I have 3 nieces and a brother here so it seemed like a good idea at the time. In the fall of 2001, I reconnected with my first love, Mike Larkin (Lafayette 67)and after a whirlwind courtship, we were married in Jan 2008(we were engaged in high school and should have been together for all these years). As I said, life is good. I have the one son, no grandchildren of my own,but Mike lets me borrow his three grandsons, Joey, Hunter, and Grady. I also have a several great-nieces and great-nephews. I am a clinical supervisor on a 53 bed medical/surgical unit in an inner-city hospital here. I like my job, but Vegas is a great place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live here. Mainly because of the weather. It gets sooooo hot here!!! We are planning to move back east of the Rockies after I retire in a few years. Hard to believe I am really ready to retire.
Can't wait to see everyone in October!!
Carol (Foster) Jarracz

I have split my practice between the Private and Government sector since joining the FL Bar in 1995. I was the recipient in 2004 of the Annual Legal Aid Pro Bono Award and in 2006 of the Andrew F. O’Connell Award for distinguished services in Disability Law and Elder Affairs, respectively. I am currently undertaking the publication of a children's story, "The Goopy Ghost", with the assistance of BookSurge.com, an Amazon.com production arm. It is scheduled for completion in time for Halloween '09.

It is very hard to believe that 40 years have gone by since we walked the halls at Tates Creek! But, here we are getting ready for our 40th reunion. After graduation I attended Hager Beauty School, and became a hairdresser. On October 17, 1969 only four months after graduation, I married my high school sweethear, John Quarles, and the day of our reunion will be our 40th anniversary too. We have three daughters, Lee Ann (38), Monica (34), and Kristy (30). We have six grandchildren, five girls and one boy, and what a delight they are. After working in beauty salons for a few years, I chose to become a stay at home Mom, so I began to take care of children in my home, and I am still at it, thirty years later. I love children, and (most days) I love my job, I feel that I have been blessed by health and strength, ( and lots of patience) to be a kind and loving caretaker for many children. Last summer I held a "Childcare Reunion", and invited all the families to come back and see me, and it was so much fun.

It's hard to believe 40 years have gone by. After graduration in October 69, I married my high school sweetheart Margie Sparks. In December 69 I was drafted in the US Army and was in Vietnam from 70-71. After returning from Vietnam I worked in construction until 1972. Started working at CKS Lumber Co. in 1972 until it closed in 1993. I have been employed as a Technician with Beckman Coulter since 1993.

I married Johnny Wash after high school. We have a daughter, Shannon and a son, Drew. I worked at UK for a few years, then an insurance company until Drew was born. I stayed home with him until he went to school and I returned to the workforce at The Webb Companies and another developer after that. I then worked for and accounting firm and returned to college at the age of 45. I owned my own business at that point that did not allow time to complete my degree.
I remarried in 2005 and now working a law firm in Lexington.
I have never left Lexington and have no desire to. I lost my dad in 1993 and my mom in 2007. I miss them both terribly and wish they were here to see my 6 grandchildren, Brayden, Ashton, Brody ( my daughter's) and Leah, Natalie and Chloe (my son's.)
Life is great and I have never been more blessed or happy.

Joe, it was a thrill to get a message from you and be transported 40 years to the past.
To catch you up....I've lived in Virginia (near DC) for nearly 15 years where I work in a middle school with their Gifted/Talented program. I have one son, 30 years old, who just graduated from Harvard Business School and moved to NYC where he works for an investment bank. I've been married/divorced twice and have 2 step-children, as well.
It's been fun to be in contact with other high school folks through this website that I never thought I'd see or hear from again.

Wow! Hard to believe it has 40 years..in someways it seems like yesterday and in other ways it seems like forever. Since graduating from TCHS I was an Army Reservist, a police officer and sales rep for Coca-Cola. Now I am involved with information technology with Coca-Cola..but I am not a propeller head..no offense to other propeller heads.
I got married in 1971 to a graduate of Lafayette, unfortunately it ended in divorce but produce my wonderful daughter, Jennifer. She is now married with a family of her own living in Lexington. I have two terrific grandkids Emma Grace, 7 and Owen, 4. I also have a step granddaughter, Taylor, who is about to turn 16.
I have been fortunate enough since being with Coca-Cola to be able to travel all over the U. S. In my current job I am doing all international travel, in the last year I have travelled to South Africa, China and the Philippines. I have also started a bucket list, so far I have checked off walking the Great Wall in China to bungee jumping off one of the world's tallest bridges, 708 feet, in South Africa.
I now live in Acworth, GA with my wife Judy and our 5 dogs, Zelda, Chaos, Rai, Angel and Elwood.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone in October..it will be a great time..

Upon graduation from TC, I had the opportunity to go to Woodstock. And yes, if you watch the movie, you can see me. (I am interviewed during the mud-slide scene.)
My careers? Well, I went to work for IBM as a sales rep and ended up taking an early buy-out. Then I decided that I wanted to become a Stock Broker. I guess it was a good choice because I was considered one of the top Option Traders in this part of the country. I left the Brokerage business and became a trader on the Chicago Board of Options Exchange. (No stress there! LOL)
A friend put me in touch with the Department of Labor who was looking for a Pension fraud Investigator. One thing led to another and I took a position as a Sr. Pension Analyst and Investigator. (I have been lucky enough to return over $30 million in stolen pensions.)
But what about hobby"s? Well, after being in the movie Woodstock, I thought that it would be a "hoot" to see just how far I could go. I have been, and paid, in the following movies: Stripes with Bill Murry, Steel with Lee Majors, Bluegrass with Cheryl Ladd, and most recently, I played the part of a Cop in Seabiscuit
and I was Kurt Russel's stand-in for the movie Dreamer.
I also sing. Not Pop or the music we grew up with, but Classical. I have sung at Carnage Hall, the Grand Ole Opry, the Cathedral of St. John the Devine in NYC, St. Thomas 5th Ave and Trinity Church Wall Street. Trinity is directly across the street from the New York Stock Exchange. I have also sung in the major Cathedrals in England. And if you have "You Tube", just type in: "How Lovely is thy Dwelling Fair".
(Just a little note here, it is NOT the Queen Mothers' funeral. but Princes Diana's funeral). Maybe I can blame all the singing that I do on the influence of the Torques? LOL I doubt it. It is something that I was doing back at TC and have carried it forward.
Well, that is pretty much for my Bio. I look forward to seeing you all at the reunion. And if I get lucky, I'll see an old MMI Alumn, Kim Forrester. Kim and I went there before coming to TC.

After graduation I went to school at Georgia Tech in Atlanta then UK and to Italy for a year of independent study before graduating at UK in Architecture. I started my own firm in 1982 and merged with CMW as partner in charge of the healthcare practice in 1990. After being there for 16 years, 3 years ago I came to Cincinnati/Northern Ky and went with a national firm. I just started my own practice again but this time as a consultant "Sullivan Healthcare Collaborative". The corporate life was not for me.
My wife Jan and I will celebrate our 30th this month and we have a daughter, Alycia a freshman at UK and Blake who is in the restaurant business in Lexington. Blake will be 22 in June. Jan works at UC Hospital and we enjoy traveling when we can. We have a condo on a golf course and Jan is taking up the game this spring.
I keep up with most of the locals, Wayne Doller, Ray and Mindy Current, Leigh Anne, Charlie Barnhart, Paul Ferrell, Fred Wachs, etc. Kenny White and his wife Nonnie remain best friends of ours. I saw Billy Joe in Florida with Kenny when he was there but have lost touch with the Alabama move.
I am working on a book about my father's broadcasting career and have seen his collection of game tapes restored at UK Archives, just recently. It won't be published until 2010 with the current economy putting it on hold with the publisher.
It will be good to see everyone this fall!

After graduating from Tates Creek, I attended Kentucky Wesleyan College where I received a BA in Music Education. However, I've never actually used my degree, having spent the past 30 years in banking. I am currently employed by the University of Kentucky Federal Credit Union as the Teller Supervisor for the main branch. I've been a lobby teller, a drive-in teller, a customer service rep, and a vault teller; doesn't seem to matter what the job title is, I'm always the one to carry the bags of coin !! I have two wonderful children; Joseph is a Systems Engineer for the Jockey Club and Helen is a Social Worker for the city of Denver. I also have two precious grandchildren who are a constant source of joy. I enjoy traveling and in the past 10 years have been to Alaska, Greece, Turkey, Ireland, Spain, France, and Italy. I divide my other free time between trips to Denver, helping to take care of my parents, and of course spending time with my grandson and granddaughter. Being a 3 year cancer survivor, I have to say that "life is beautiful"!!!

First a major shout out to the reunion team here in Lex. I agree with the rest of you: where in the world did the past 40 years go!? Laura and I began dating at TC in the winter of '69, then finished at UK and couldn't find anyone we liked better, so we wed in December of '73 and have never looked back. I graduated from the ROTC program at UK as an Army Finance Officer then we spent 6 wonderful years in the military: 3 in Colorado and another 3 in Germany. I finished in the Reserves 20 years later and retired a Lieutenant Colonel. After returning from Germany, I started in the general insurance business in 1980 then founded Cambridge Insurance with Carson Evans (a Lafayette grad and good friend) in 1989. Laura will be retiring this year from her part time work in a doctor's office. We did manage to have two wonderful children along the way, Taylor 31, currently teaches flying the F-15 fighter jet at the Air Force Top Gun school in Las Vegas, and Kalin, 28, works with her boyfriend at Dreamworks, a local computer company. No grandchildren yet, but we maintain a constant state of encouragement. An instrument rated pilot, I love flying, golf, music, traveling and riding my Harley. Laura is a wonderful gardener. We spend the first couple of weeks in January in Naples and Captiva Island, FL. We got a great start at TC thanks to all of you, and have been Powerfully blessed since. We both look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the reunion.

Mike Bryant After a couple of years at UK, I moved to Atlanta in 1973 and took a job with Emory/Primate Research center as a technician from 1973 to1978.
I went back to school in 1978, and got my degree in Ophthalmic dispensing, working as optician until 1981.
I took a new job with AT&T, from 1981 to 2003, and took and early retirement package from AT&T in 2003, so I'm semi retired now, some property investments, but my biggest job now is maintaining Diane’s to-do list.
Married Diane Brain (TC class of ’70) 1976
We have two children Michael born 1982, and Katie in 1985.

Wanda Mansfield
I've been living in Fredericksburg, TX for the past 20 some years. Married. No kids. Texas is a whole other country Ha! I live with a hunter and fisherman. It's a long story how I got to Texas. More to follow.

WOW!! 40 years!! Who'd-a-thunk-it!!?
After graduation I went to UK to major in theater, landed the lead in the major production of the year in my second semester and promptly flunked out the following fall. Good trick -- flunking out of UK. I suppose the chemicals had a part to play in all that, but I don't remember too well. Probably the best thing that happened in that fall is a friend set me up on a blind date with Jo Ann Stampe. My draft number came up 17 and I was off to the Army. During my three years in the Army I taught documentation film and worked as a documentation photographer all over southern Germany. Jo Ann and I were wed in '72, off to Germany late that year and back in '74.
Back to UK I took advantage of the academic bankruptcy offered to returning vets and finished a degree in Business. I was having so much fun that I stayed, completing a Masters and Doctorate in Economics. Meanwhile Jo Ann and I had two sons, Jesse Caleb in '78 and Josiah Benjamin in '82. The next stop was 6 years at Transylvania, beginning in 1980. In the fall of '87 I was lucky enough to land the position of Dean of the Division of Administration and Economics at LSU-Alexandria. Academic administration was not my cup of tea; I wanted to get back to teaching.
I found a little school in North Carolina that I thought was going to take off and, since being at Transy when it went through such dramatic improvement in the mid 80's was so much fun, I took the position of Department Chair at Elon in 1990. I have been here ever since. In addition to the normal load of intro and statistics classes, I teach undergraduates in the areas of economic justice and history and graduate students in the areas of managerial economics and globalization.
For the past 18 years I have led a group of students on an annual month-long course wandering Western Europe. The original topic was the development of the European Union (which I have now passed off to a Political Science professor), but for the last six years I have been teaching a course examining how the Church used its buildings for other than the obvious religious reasons in the middle ages. This coming January I am refining this one further into a course on how to "read" a medieval church for the political, economic, scientific, and personal messages, as well as the more obvious theological messages embodied in the architecture, ornamentation, and art. It's a tough assignment, but somebody's gotta do it! See Ya in the Fall
